LMC No 55 Wallet Card No 65

Hi Again Folks,

Here's my next challenge, I was trying to make it a fun one, but just am not sure about it. Was meant to be about summer with the sunshine, flowers, wildlife and the little Gorjuss Miss with her Mischief making Ginger Tom Cat.

Such a wonderful image of a girl with her cat which reminded me of my trouble making cat called Mischief, everything that moved was fair game to him (not a ginger tom but a black witches cat) He loved the spring and summer when they was lots to chase and smell, he adored flowers and would forever go around smelling them, even if it meant pulling the down to smell them. And my slippers whether my feet was in them or not was also fair game to him, never managed to keep a pair for long!

I have used white card stock to make the wallet card, 2 shades of orange bling card stock, 2 backing papers one of flowers and the other of birds with flowers, various flower gems, 3 flowers and 3 brads, cuttlebug embossing folder swiss dots, Orange Organza ribbon and one Gorjuss Girls image Purrfect Friend.

I hope you like this but I am not sure about it, but there you go, sometimes the best intentions do not always work. Anyway until next time, have a great day and take care, lol

I Wanna Be Just Like ... Club Anya Challenge 24.5.09

Hi Folks,

I normally dont do any crafting over the weekends especially Bank Holidays, but as my other half is busy working on the car I decided to do a bit of catch up.

And here's my first instalment, the challenge for Club Anya. I have made a wallet card from white card stock, then decorated with red and pink card stock. Both wallet card and card stocks are cuttlebug embossed using the swiss dots folder. I have then cut out 2 rectangles from the red card stock and added backing paper with glasses of drink on and certificates. Next I cut out 2 smaller rectangles, one in red and one in pink card stock and added sentiments 'Here is To You', it would have been Here's to You if I could have as the Anya image I have added is Cheers. I then attached to silk prima flowers with red polka dot brad to card and then also added my Anya image which I coloured with Whispers Strokes Pens and attached by using 3D foam stickers. Finally I have added a Burgundy Organzia ribbon and 3 x 2 different sized Iridescent Gem Stones, plus 2 really some gem stones in opposite corners of the card stock and on the sentiments to complete the look.

I do hope you like this and will take a peek at the club anya website and here's until next time, have a great Bank Holiday weekend and take care, happy crafting, lol.

My Gorjuss Girls Cards & Gifts Book

Hi Folks,

I thought today I would make something for myself as I make cards and gifts for others and never for myself.

So my task was to cover my notebook that I have recently started for all my cards, layouts, designs, challenges and gifts. I started this book because I have lots of paper with information on and decided it would be easier to have all this in one place.

I have used 4 Sugar Nellie Images of Gorjuss Girls Set 2 as I really love these so much and it is easy to turn these into Gothic especially as one is already a goth girl. Anyone who really knows me would say I am a goth, not to look at these days but when I was much younger you could tell by the black clothes and punkish hair styles but working in an office for over 20 years caused the change to sensible I suppose but I still love my horror films. Enough though I am a goth I still love all sorts of music from punk to rock, heavy, pop, classical, folk, country and even opera. I am very lucky to have found a guy with similar tastes, soo similar at times its scary. In fact our home is based on a black and white theme with my other favourite colours, lilac and purple, yes I know I was born in the flower power years but am not a flower power person unless its outside as I am a very keen gardener and that includes bunches of flowers, I would rather have a plant to go outside like a rose bush.

So that explains my reason for such a deliberate taste in decoration, I have used Guardian Angel, Little Goth Girl, Flower Girl, Untamed, all fairly obvious why I chose them. I have then put them on lilac and purple card stock, then onto white card stock and also have used my cuttlebug embossing folder swiss dots for more of an effect and added a strip with words on the same colour scheme and glued this onto the front sheet of my book. To decorate I have added a black ribbon with white polka dots, coloured all images in with Whispers Strokes Pens keeping to the black and purple colours. I have to complete the look added lilac/purple silk flowers with black brads and added clear gem stones to dresses and corners of card and so completes my project.

I hope that you like this and maybe might give you some inspiration to try this type of project. Until the next blog, do take care and happy crafting, lol

How to make a Tea Bag/Bath Salts Gift Holder

Hi Folks,

This is the last blog for this week, so I thought I would make it something gorjuss by using my gorjuss girl sitting image. I have chosen to use an idea that I have seen on another blog site called the Double Dutch Challenge and the information on how to make these and several other items can be seen on their blog site. But I have included the information how to make this particular item which is called a teabag and can be used as gifts with a few tea bags in or pot pourri or even bath salts.

So here goes folks for the info and how to make them.

Cut a strip of 25 x 15 cm. Score along the entire length at 4 and 11 cm and at 11, 12.5 and 14 cm on the short side. Fold the long scorelines, these overlap with 1 cm, that's your glue strip. Add glue and seal the strip shut. Now you have a teabag. Score the top four corners at a 2 cm angle and fold them inward. Fill the bag with a few teabags or something that smells nice, make a hole in the centre and add an eyelet. Finish the bag how you wish with decoration.

I hope you like these and will give them a try, until next time, do take care.

Gorjuss Girls - Sitting Xmas Card

A Good Day to You All

I have since the beginning of this year decided that I must be more prepared for Christmas because of the mad rush it has been the last couple of years. So as I have decided to also try and make gifts as well as cards for Christmas I thought it would be advisable to at least make 2 cards a week and if I missed a week it would be put onto the next week to catch up.

Well have not been too bad at this but am now trying out gifts like the candles, but have thought of a few other ideas for future blogging of course. But I just wanted to share with you an idea I had as I could not resist this one.

I have used a gorjuss girls - sitting image and turned her into a gothic idea of mrs xmas using the cuttlebug embossing folders swiss dots and then snowflakes which she is sitting on with a touch of gem stones to make it look more glittery. Also I have used a lovely backing paper from another crafting friend called Svetlana who makes such gorgeous papers to go obviously with my cute gorjuss girl.

I know its probably an odd idea but could not resist using my gorjuss girl as mrs xmas, I hope you like it and until next time happy crafting.

How to do Candle Stamping

Well Folks, Its Friday again and a Bank Holiday weekend to boot and I am going to have a well earned rest after all that crafting and gardening but before I do I thought I would upload one last thing.

It is the information about candle stamping, of which I put a picture on my first post, also it is on my slide at the bottom of this blog site if you wish to take a peek.

I find this on another website and thought this would be ideal as you can make these as gifts for your friends and families and if you have never tried before, so here goes.

You will need a candle preferably white or cream, white tissue paper, stamps and ink pad, gems to decorate (optional), markers or other colouring mediums, scissors, wax paper, embossing gun and cloth to polish candle when cooled.

Step 1

Stamp image onto tissue paper also stamp extra images on the tissue paper in case of mistake.

Step 2

Colour in stamped images, but be careful.

Step 3

Cut out your stamped images fairly close to the edges.

Step 4

Take a piece of wax paper and cut it so that it is not any taller than the candle being used and long enough so that it wraps completely around the candle and some.

Step 5

Take first stamped image and place it on the candle. Then place wax paper on top and wrap the wax paper around the candle. Wing out the extra wax paper and pinch close with your fingers making sure the wax paper is tight against the candle.

Step 6

Heat up your embossing gun for 30-40 seconds until it is nice and hot. Moving quickly, wave it over the area where the stamped image is; be sure to keep the wax paper nice and tight. Every candle will have a different wax melting point, but you should see a change begin to take place within a few seconds. As the candle heats up, the pressure from the wax paper should push the image into the melting wax of the candle, embedding the image and leaving your image intact. Slowly peel the wax paper off the candle. Remember: every brand is different so if you are switching between brands you may need to adjust your heating times a bit.

Step 7

Finish your candle. You can do numerous images on one candle; just place another image and move the wax paper. It is best to try and not use the same spot on the wax paper for each image, but you can use 1 piece of wax paper numerous times. Once the candle has cooled down, just rub a cloth over it and now if you wish you may add decorations such as gem stones.

I found that my first image that I used was not that good once on the candle but it was a practice run and helped me to decide what stamped images to use and hope you enjoy trying this especially as they make great gifts.

I wish you all a Fab Bank Holiday Weekend and do take care of yourselves.
